Board Member Spotlight

Mark Hays is the managing director of sales and business development for Chmura Economics & Analytics.  In this role, he assists a variety of organizations with labor market intelligence to help people succeed, businesses grow, and communities thrive. He believes strong labor market data helps organizations target resources and services to areas most in need.  This led him to Alliance for Greater Works as he is passionate about the organization’s mission and the services it provides to help Texans and their communities thrive.

Before joining Chmura Economics & Analytics, Hays served as vice chancellor of workforce and economic development for the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD).  He was the first individual to hold the position and was responsible for a variety of initiatives that lead to a better-trained workforce for Dallas County employers. Hays also created WorkReady U, the District’s adult education programs that focused on getting underserved populations into living wage jobs in the Dallas area. The program grew from less than 500 students to more than 30,000 during his tenure.

A native of Perryton, Texas, Hays has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture communications from Oklahoma State University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Oklahoma.  He is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Institute of Educational Management.
