Board Highlight – Dr. Larry LeFlore

Dr. Larry LeFlore joined the Alliance for Greater Works’ Board of Directors in January of 2021. Dr. LeFlore has a passion for social justice and reform, particularly as it relates to the impact of the criminal justice system on the African American family and community. He is the author of three books, over a dozen journal articles, and is a prominent conference speaker throughout the nation.

His impact at the various colleges and universities for which he has worked is equally extensive and impressive. He is a Professor and Dean Emeritus at Texas Woman’s University, a researcher, and a competitive grant writer. Dr. LeFlore is also a principal investigator in areas of juvenile justice, incarcerated females/mothers, and parenting, which included a federally funded, five-year, multi-million dollar program–ANTHEM-Dallas Strong Families Healthy Marriages Initiative.

Dr. LeFlore is a therapist, licensed by the American and Texas Marriage and Family Therapy Associations. Even with his current responsibilities, Dr. LeFlore continues to be of service to his community. Alliance is blessed and honored to have Dr. LeFLore on the board and leading our newest initiative, The Resilient Church Collective: A Trauma Informed Community.
