Healing Youth Alliance Fall Season

Healing Youth Alliance Trauma-Informed Training is a course offered to train pastors, educators, families and young adults to recognize the signs of trauma in youth and empower them to respond in ways that will begin to create a pathway for healing. Trauma is the result of a deeply distressing physical or emotional experience. Trauma may be directly experienced, a result of what we have witnessed on television or passed down generationally.

In October we hosted our fifth session of the HYA series. In this session, we expanded the discussion surrounding trauma to include breast cancer awareness, as well as domestic violence awareness. Parents working from home while their children are learning from home has caused an increase in domestic violence and child abuse cases. Our youth are living with the threat of COVID19, the stress of online learning and the feeling of loneliness due to isolation from their friends.

Please be sure to attend our last training of the year on Saturday, November 21, 2020. During this special event, we will discuss depression and anxiety during the holidays and how COVID is amplifying this in our community. We will stream live on the Alliance for Greater Works™ Facebook page or you can register now.
