Remembering Byron Keith Brown, Sr.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the untimely death of Mr. Byron Keith Brown, Sr., beloved husband of our Senior Program Director, Comfort D. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have been long-time friends of Alliance even prior to Comfort joining the Alliance staff. Byron passed away on July 9, 2021, in Richardson, Texas.

Comfort and Byron were married 41 years and three children were born to their union – Miya R. Brown, Marcus K. Brown, and Monica S. Brown. They were best friends and always functioned as “a team” with an exemplary respect, honor, and support of each other. Their love and commitment for one another was evident to all who knew them, and that same love and commitment was on full display just two days prior to Byron’s unexpected transition. Comfort lovingly recruited Byron to join her as she worked Alliance’s vendor table at the 25th Annual E. K. Bailey Preaching Conference. Byron enjoyed connecting and interacting with countless preachers in attendance while sharing information about our new initiative, The Resilient Church Collective.

Byron was an encourager with a giving spirit. He was known for sending daily and weekly inspirational texts, and he consistently called to check on his family and friends, especially the elderly. His generosity will forever impact the lives of many. Even upon his transition, he gifted someone with improved vision through being an organ donor.  Byron’s incredible gift of friendship and thoughtfulness will be fondly remembered and treasured. Known for his love for Jesus Christ and his love for his family, that same love was extended to all who knew Byron Keith Brown, Sr.

In lieu of flowers and cards, the family has asked that financial donations are made in memory of Byron K. Brown, Sr.  to Alliance for Greater Works.
