Esmeralda Ortiz has joined the Alliance for Greater Works team as the Program Manager for the Collaborative Approaches to Well-Being in Rural Communities Initiative.
Esmeralda has more than 20 years of experience in customer service, community coalition building, project management and is also a certified Change Cycle facilitator, trainer and coach. She holds extensive knowledge and experience in asset-based community development and a successful track record of designing, planning and facilitating professional development training for community leaders, non-profit executives and middle managers as well as PK-12 school leaders.
For the last 12 years, Esmeralda has worked with businesses, SMU faculty and volunteers to provide training prior to working within marginalized communities. She has played an integral role in the establishment and growth of SMU's The School Zone - West Dallas Collaborative. Esmeralda has served as an advisory board member for Uplift Education, Readers 2 Leaders and West Dallas Community School. Her greatest joy is meeting community residents and learning about their families and their history.
