Servant leadership is a style of leadership built around the philosophy of serving others, rather than exhibiting power or taking control. A servant leader focuses on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. Alliance for Greater Works is grateful for the servant leadership of our Board Member, Jeff Howard, and Board Member, Joel McCalister. As the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and their tenure at Alliance concludes at the end of this year. Their insight and passion for the communities we serve has helped Alliance thrive during unprecedented times.
Jeff Howard is the Community Development Specialist for Parkland Health and Hospital System. With over 18 years of experience working in community outreach in the West Dallas, South Dallas/Fair Park and Vickery Meadow neighborhoods, Jeff has helped provide community-based services with key community stakeholders to help develop and create healthy and sustainable communities.
Joel McCalister is a native of Dallas, a minister of the gospel and has worked in the banking industry for more than 23 years. He is passionate about helping others reach their full potential, especially when it comes to the disparities of financial literacy and proficiency amongst different communities.
Both gentlemen were invaluable assets to Alliance for Greater Works. Their love for our heavenly Father, commitment to service and leadership qualities helped navigate Alliance during the pandemic. Nations, cities, organizations, and even families rise or fall based on leadership. We thank Jeff Howard and Joel McCalister for their individual and collective contributions to the sustainability of Alliance, particularly during the past 18 months. Your leadership was critical to Alliance’s ability to pivot during unprecedented times to continue to serve our communities. Thank you for your service and your leadership.
