Meet Our Founder and CEO

Founder and CEO

Sherrye Willis is the founder and CEO of Alliance for Greater Works™. Sherrye has over 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, serving on both sides of philanthropy including executive director of a private family foundation and a chief development officer in major higher education and art institutions.

She has consulted and coached in numerous sectors for hundreds of organizations, including Dr. Tony Evans’ National Church-Adopt-A-School Initiative, Center for Philanthropy Bermuda, Concord Church, Esping Family Foundation, Foundation for Community Empowerment, Dallas Leadership Foundation, and Builders of Hope Community Development Corporation.

Willis has also presented to local, state, national, and international audiences as a keynote speaker, trainer, and facilitator in the areas of leadership, board development, change management, faith-based community/economic development, framework of poverty, fundraising, grant writing, collaboration models and more.

In 2012, Sherrye was one of 150 U. S. leaders invited to the White House to discuss challenges facing local communities. The goal was to learn from pioneers who are driving change in challenging times and to explore new ways federal policymaking can support their endeavors.

Only three Texas organizations were invited. In 2003, Sherrye authored and designed the first Texas capacity building program called Building Capacity Building Communities program funded by the Compassion Capital Demonstration Fund Program. The purpose of the program was to help faith-based and community groups build capacity and improve their ability to provide social services to those in need.

Over the last fifteen years nonprofits, foundations, and governments have partnered with Alliance for Greater Works to improve outcomes, communities, and, most importantly, people’s lives. Join our mailing list today to learn about ways you can become involved.
